Why new year’s resolutions don’t work
Every year, millions of us commit to New Year’s resolutions:
Exercise
Eat healthy
Save money
But by the end of January the gym has gone to the back of the list and the chocolate and wine are calling. The call to holiday deals is strong.
We all want change and we know we need to change our habits, patterns and behaviours. But pushing and willpower don’t cut it.
What really needs to be understood is the why that drives them.
Here we need to look at the subconscious mind
Beliefs and thought patterns are buried in the subconscious mind, 95% of our thoughts and beliefs that shape our outcomes operate beneath here. The subconscious mind quietly influences our choices.
So you see, it’s incredibly difficult to create long lasting and transformational change through mindset and willpower alone.
We can set intentions and bully ourselves internally to get things done. But these underlying these beliefs shape our habits and actions.
This deep and long lasting change needs to be addressed at a deeper level.
I work with women everyday that have the same underlying beliefs
“I’m not worthy”
“I don’t deserve it”
“I’m not good enough”
Does this sound like you?
Using Integral Eye Movement Therapy I support my clients to bring these beliefs to awareness and help them to release and understand why they are there.
These deep-seated beliefs, often formed early in life. Without awareness and understanding we struggle to address them, they show up in our lives all over the place and end up with the same results time and again.
Until we uncover, understand, work with and reframe the beliefs, attempts at change can feel like pushing a boulder uphill
True transformation starts from the inside out.
This year you may want a deeper change where you go beyond surface level solutions that you have tried over and over again and create a foundation for true, lasting change.
