Pieces...
Wholeness is not achieved by cutting off a portion of one’s being, but by integration of the contraries. - Carl Jung
Have you ever been broken?
Shattered into pieces?
Wandering and lurching, trying to find a way?
Often desperately wanting to become something new. Something different.
We want to scrub the parts of us that feel old, boring and dark.
We want to forget who we were and move on.
Take the pieces away that don’t fit anymore.
But we know we can’t, right?
Because it’s those pieces of us that have the strength, learning and struggle. That old wobbly self still has wisdom despite how it feels.
It’s about taking those pieces that feel lost and unloved and bringing them deeply into us. Holding them. Nurturing them. Loving them even, if we can.
Healing the root so the tree is stable. That’s the nature of true growth.
Taking time to look back, is a foundation on course to build a stable future. - Unarine Ramaru
The broken pieces come from a lack of foundation, of stability, of not knowing…anything really.
If we can find our way to reflecting with new awareness.
We can start to recolour our experiences from black and blue to a full spectrum.
It’s wobbly. How and where do we even start?
For me, it is returning and returning again and again to my internal and often chaotic world of feeling the broken.
To gently pick the pieces up, stick them together and make them into something different. Stronger and more useful.
The endless vulnerability in that process is exhausting. But necessary.
Because without it, we break all over again.
The intention and outcome of vulnerability is trust, intimacy and connection. - Brené Brown
