ESSENCE
I believe remembering, returning to essence, the authentic self has been my own deep journey and is also what I am here to support others with.
In Chinese Medicine, Jing, which translates into “essence” is the substance that is responsible for both the essential immaterial (Soul) and essential physical being (body) of a person. To me it describes the authentic self. The self we talk to in our private moments, in the sacred solitude of stillness when we sit with what is in our Hearts.
Rarely do we share these parts of ourselves. The outside World has often caused us to cover over those pure and loving parts of ourselves. It has taught us defence and protection.
Most of us use a mask in day to day life. We are conditioned to please others and to fit in.
Instead of behaving according to our deepest values, we behave in a way that enables us to be accepted. We tell people what we think they want to hear and go against our true nature. What is authentic and true to ourselves.
It's tiring to live this way and it can start to manifest as illness and low mood. It can stop us reaching our full potential. To live authentically, according to our true nature is to live free from others' ideals and expectations. Freedom to choose our own life and be strong in the decisions we make for ourselves.
Your essence or your authentic self is every part of who you are. Living this way means being in full alignment with ease and flow.
So how do we move into this authentic self, this essence?
As humans we hang on to old programmes that become stuck or embedded within us. We need a reset and by finding the right support we learn how to work with the programme. We rerun it and check the timeline for issues and bugs. By observing this we can see where the little issues have become one big one and run the programme again with more insight.
I realise that is simplifying life, but with the right support and tools we begin to learn how to process the old conditioning we hold and move it through us. To create space for new energy and vitality to enter where there was no space before. We peel back old layers and see more of the deepest part of us. Out TRUE selves.
Often when we go through a process we don't want to feel the feelings, we believe we are alone on the journey and isolate ourselves. In my own experience we need to be seen, understood, witnessed and held. This supports us to feel safe enough to let go when it has felt unsafe to do so before.
The last two months have been an incredible time of transformation and my process has not felt easy. In the past I have neglected my own need for support. But on this occasion, it was time to do it differently. I am so glad I chose to be held. It felt like years of weight had suddenly been lifted.
The work and integration has been my own, don't get me wrong. But having that safe place to release has been an amazing comfort. My journey with my body alone over the years has been tussle and a fight and those layers were ready to go.
Does this sound familiar to you?
Has this been your experience too?
If so then, I SEE you. I HEAR you. I WITNESS you.
By standing in the awareness of change alone and preparing for the unknown, you are truly the bravest of Souls.
